On November 8, 1937, Taiyuan fell and the army retreated south to Linfen. For a time, this Jinnan town became the center of the War of Resistance in Shanxi and even North China. At this time, a special formation unit of the Eighth Route Army, the Eighth Route Army Academy, was established in Liucun Town, Linfen. In more than one hundred days, more than six hundred bloody youths "cast into steel" in this anti-Japanese war furnace.

The film tells the story of a near future in which the earth is irreversibly sandy, as human emissions and rubbish exceed its carrying capacity. As plants and animals mutate to create the Earth's new masters, the "sand worms", which are slaughtering the planet and driving humans to the brink of extinction, the survivors are left to their own devices to find the only remaining refuge in the deep desert, the "Oasis". An exiled team of wealthy businessmen, scientists, security chiefs, mechanic families and gangsters set out on an adventure to find the Oasis in a special armoured vehicle, but the bloodthirsty insects are hot on their heels.

"Nature" is a rural realist film about human nature, motherhood, and family affection. One winter morning, in a remote mountain village, a young madwoman hid among a stack of straw. She was taken in by Xizi's mother, known for her stinginess and selfishness, and married to Xizi, who was unable to find a wife. The madwoman and Xizi married and soon gave birth to a son, Zhuzi. Xizi's mother, believing rumors that the madwoman's breast milk was poisonous, forbade her from breastfeeding and kicked her out of the house. As Zhuzi grew up, the madwoman, who had been wandering for years, suddenly returned to the village. The madwoman cut brambles to help Zhuzi raise money for his tuition, but Zhuzi refused to accept her offer. Zhuzi even refused to let his mother go to the county town to bring him cotton clothes.

The story is about a delivery man Li An Quan struggling to live in Beijing meanwhile his daughter is ill and needs 20 million for surgical fees. Li works hard to earn money, but accidents occurre one after another.
