The rival State of Qi tried to bribe and manipulate Zhan Qin with money and power, but to no avail. They then sent a woman named Zhijiang to seduce him, hoping to break his resolve. However, Zhan Qin remained morally upright and unmoved by temptation. Unexpectedly, Zhijiang fell in love with him and ultimately saved his life. Zhan Qin later resigned from office and returned to his hometown Linquan, where he lived out his days. He was later honored as the "Sage of Harmony (He Sheng)" by future generations.
