A staggering historical epic about the intrigue and turmoil of the East Asian civilization of Otrar, before its systematic destruction at the hands of Genghis Khan.

Events in the film take place in 19 century when adyghean people increasingly realised the need for combining their forces. This theme is reflected in conflict of Dzhambot, wise tutor of young adyghean nobles, and prince Yedidzh, who upholds the idea of independent specific princedoms. Film recreates the atmosphere of adyghean life. Scenario is based on first adyghean books, etnographical drawings and tales of old.

In Alexandre Dumas' novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" there is a character - the daughter of the Turkish Sultan Gaide, whose parents were killed and she herself was sold into slavery. However, this is not an invention of Dumas. The Turkish woman Gayde is a real historical person. A woman whose beauty was admired by Voltaire, Abbé Prevost and Alexandre Dumas...
