A widow with three daughters, Nadia, Esmat and Raja. Their aunt advises them to go to a matchmaker to find grooms for them. They reject this approach, so Nadia establishes an association calling for giving women the right to choose their life partner instead of men. The journalist Jalal mocks this idea, but he falls in love with Nadia and does not express his feelings. Her sister Esmat becomes involved with the shy Monem, while Raja chooses her fiancé Reda in the same way.

Kamal, a young man who aspires to get rich, joins a smuggling gang so he can marry Warda, the dancer. The gang plans to smuggle a quarter of a million dollars, so Zizo hands Kamal the money and instead of smuggling it, he takes it for himself and hides it in the salt marshes with his lifelong friend, the prince. Zizo begins to chase Kamal and events unfold.

Lillian is a Jewish dancer who has a number of admirers, including Farid, a wealthy lonely young man. Lillian leaves Farid in order to go to Palestine. Farid then meets Goaher, another dancer. Goaher is married to El Saba’i, who along with his colleague Simbel, protect her. Goaher refuses to give any of what she earns to El Saba’i, so Saba’i attempts to ambush, rob, and kill Farid, and events ensue.
