A choral story where characters of different statuses and generations cross paths in an attempt to find happiness and alleviate the loneliness that crushes some of them. In a 12-storey building, neighbors and newcomers intersect, and in these encounters the destiny of some will be twisted and that of others will take better paths. A few blocks away, in another building, two septuagenarians struggle to get the company of a couple who are in a fight against the clock for a few square meters.

A story about teenagers, their parents and teachers, the conflicts that can arise in today's Cuban society, and their solutions. The film tells the story of Matilde and Isabel, two young girls in ninth grade in the Cuban capital, who become close friends despite their differences in education, social behavior, and personality.

In the 1950s, Patria, Minerva, and María Teresa Mirabal - who were known by their codename "The Butterflies" - created an underground resistance movement against Rafael Trujillo, dictator of the Dominican Republic. On November 25, 1960, Trujillo had all three sisters assassinated. The assassinations turned the Mirabal sisters into national heroines and symbols of feminist resistance. The documentary interweaves interviews with over forty witnesses to the story, including the Mirabal family friends, colleagues, co-revolutionaries, teachers, and most importantly, their surviving sister, Dedé, along with dramatic reenactments and archival footage.
