Hannah and Leo want to attend the party of the year but don't know where it is. When they finally meet a classmate, they soon have to find out the real reason for their exclusion and are faced with the decision of whether they still want to carry out their plan.
GDR, August 1989: Hanna and Andreas became a target of the secret police and had to give up their plans for their future studies and desired professions. Instead, they face arbitrariness, mistrust and reprisals. Their only chance for a self-determined life lies in fleeing across the Baltic Sea. Fifty kilometres of water separate them from freedom - and only a thin connecting rope around their wrists saves them from absolute loneliness.
After a Jewish boy was harassed by his classmates for months, an argument breaks out between the overwhelmed parents, the class teacher and the school management.
After a physical assault by her boyfriend, L. loses all confidence in herself and in her relationship with him. A dangerous system of violent sequences and patterns is revealed. Using performative elements that give expression to the unspeakable, L. begins her process of disengagement, through which she ultimately attempts to rescue herself from the violent relationship.
