Dr. Viktoria Wex tries to solve the coldly executed murder of an IT entrepreneur.
Fed up with pandemics, quarantines and news about ecological disasters, worried about their own uncertain future and the fate of the world, a group of high school students are invited by Kamil, a millionaire's son, to a party at his father's seaside residance.
After only a few years of training, the top student at the fishing school is appointed captain of a fishing vessel. The experienced crew of the Orion - a bunch of old sea dogs - openly show their dislike for the new captain, a youngster with no experience. The conflict deepens as a result of the captain's "bad luck"—the ship is not catching fish even in places where it used to catch a lot. It is only when the captain discovers the cause, which is a malfunction of one of the devices, that he is fully rehabilitated in the eyes of the crew.
Dr Viktoria Wex arrives in a town in Masuria. She is about to say goodbye to the uncle who raised her as a surrogate father. The letter she received suggests that he has decided to take his own life.
A death in the family draws forensic scientist Dr. Viktoria Wex back from Berlin to her childhood home in Poland. But this is not the only reason for her return: Haunted by the recent murder of her husband Felix, Victoria is determined to find out who killed him and why.
In a war-torn country, young Danuta and her family play a dangerous game of hide-and-seek with soldiers. Amidst the chaos, Danuta finds comfort and hope in a sunflower, that connects her back with her loved ones.
