An employee of the foreign trade association Kazakov makes an offer to the American businessman Vikas to invest in the construction of a chemical plant. It was decided to build it on the site of a gasification station in Nizhne-Pechorsk. Vikas' decision to conclude a contract for the construction of the plant becomes known to American businessmen, who are not interested in this cooperation. The film is dedicated to those who return the blue sky and all the colors of the earth to those who have lost their sight - ophthalmologists, their bold experiments and scientific research. The action takes place within the walls of the scientific Institute of Eye Diseases named after V.P. Filatov. The protagonist, who had already lost hope of seeing something, saw the blue sky again.

Follows the events of August 1918 in Tsarevokokshaisk (Yoshkar-Ola), when the White Guards, led by local princes, were preparing a coup.

During World War II, earnest young Russian soldier Alyosha Skvortsov is rewarded with a short leave of absence for performing a heroic deed on the battlefield. Feeling homesick, he decides to visit his mother. Due to his kindhearted nature, however, Alyosha is repeatedly sidetracked by his efforts to help those he encounters, including a lovely girl named Shura. In his tour of a country devastated by war, he struggles to keep hope alive.

Pirx, an experienced pilot, is hired to go on a top-secret mission to evaluate some 'nonlinears' (an experimental model of android) for use as crewmembers on future space flights. Pirx and this intriguing crew are sent out to launch two satellites into the rings of Saturn, but he is determined to find out and identify a hostile unhuman coworker among them.
