Ateng and Iskak try their fortune in Jakarta by working as helpers for Bagio, who makes fun of them all the time. Then, they meet Vivi and Erni whose car breaks down and they help to pull the car to their house. After getting a job from the girls, Iskak starts to dream about Erni. Iskak tells Ateng about his dream and the father overhears this. So they are both fired. But the house servant, Ardi, gives them an address of his relative, Diran, who owns a garage. They get the job and on one delivery, they meet Vivi and Erni, who brings them back to work at home, at the request of their father. There are funny musical scenes in the film, one of which features three songs in a row.
Titiek, a widowed “dangdut” singer, has adoptive children, Ateng and his older sibling, Enny. Meanwhile Eddy Sud, a widower whose collection is 90 per cent “dangdut” songs, has a daughter, Vivi, whose Ateng had relationship with. Their parents don't approve of the romance between Ateng and Vivi, so they keep their relationship a secret.
Set in the world of cowboys, the sharpshooter Eddy Sud saves Vivi, Bing’s daughter. Bing himself receives a threat from a bandit group and because of that contracts Eddy Sud to help him.
Farm workers, Ateng and Iskak, have won a lottery that makes them millionaires overnight. They desert their village for Jakarta. One day, they meet Vivi, the daughter of a hotel CEO, Eddy Sud, and she introduces them to him. He manages to convince Ateng and iskak to return to their village.
Don Ateng Singaleon throws a party and the beautiful Dona Vivi attends and immediately gains Iskak Kreolibo’s attention. But the party is disrupted by the arrival of the Kribo tribe who want to seek revenge for an incident at the lake. One day, Papai the sailor appears and he gets along well with Dona Vivi until Iskak becomes jealous. Later, Iskak uses the Kribo tribe to help him get his way. The story itself can be considered superfluous as they merely set up the jokes for the scenes.
Ateng is spoiled by his grandmother and this troubles his parents since Ateng is a little mentally challenged and needs special education from a teacher. The presence of Iskak, a village kid who is adopted and brought there to accompany Ateng is also a worry as Iskak always has ideas for his own profit. Ateng becomes very dependent on Iskak, so when Iskak is told to leave after he is accused of stealing a neighbor’s watch (though unproven), Ateng is very upset. Then he climbs up a water tower and refuses to come down until Iskak returns.
An argument erupts within a well-known touring theater group that separates the three friends from their primadona, Ernie Djohan. Kris Biantoro, Ernie’s boyfriend, takes advantage of this chaos, to take over the group. So the three friends start a new group, and fortunately they successfully launch their careers in film.
A criminal on the lam takes on a new identity as a shaman, which causes all kinds of problems when various people come to him looking for help.
Reminiscent of the film The Sound of Music, Bing Slamet works for Eddy Sud’s family, who has many children. Bing wins their heart with his singing talent. The movie is filled with messages of tourism promotion and family planning, but there is also humour, since the Kwartet Jaya comedy group are part of the cast.
This time Ateng and friends are dressed in costumes recalling Baghdad’s sultanate. The story is similar to Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves. The poor Ali Baba becomes suddenly rich after finding a treasure in a cave that actually belongs to the King of Robbers. After hearing about the treasure, Ali’s brother goes into the cave to take some but forgets the magic password and is trapped inside. When the King of Robbers arrives, he learns that Ali Baba has found out their secret. So a duel ensues between Ali Baba and the King of Robbers, and in the end the police apprehends them. Ateng and friends are hilarious and the Baghdad set and costumes bring back the nostalgia of old stage performances.
