Three brothers lead a respectable and harmonious life. All attempts by their cousins to divide them fail until they take advantage of a delicate situation and join forces with like-minded allies.

The film begins with Siva escaping from jail, Siva is a convict who failed to kill the politician R. K. twice. At the transfer of power, R. K. will take oath as the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu, so he deploys heavy security to protect him from Siva. Before that, Siva manages to kidnap R. K. and hauled him to a television station. Siva tells his past to the audience and the reason behind the kidnapping.

Veluchami, an orphan, is raised by Periya Ayya along with his own daughter. When Periya decides to give away his daughter to the local temple, Veluchami marries her by force to save her.

ellaichaamy (Vijayakanth) thinks the world of his three brothers, even giving up marriage when he learns that the woman he loves plans to send them to a hostel after the wedding. Only to be insulted! Circumstances bring Muthu to the city, to the girl's palatial bungalow where he works as a cook. The girl is arrogant and rude till she realises that Muthu is her childhood pal. And now it is she who does all the wooing and persuades her father to get her married to Muthu.

Rasayya is a wealthy but cowardly man, who is being controlled by his uncle, Ratnavelu. An educated woman falls in love with Rasayya and makes him a changed man. Will Rasayya fight against Ratnavelu?
