When four of the most influential riders in freeride history team up to shred a series of natural wonders, the result is bound to be nothing short of perfection.

The lack of snow in much of the world, and a lack of snowpack stability in most other places, made this winter exceptionally challenging. Mentally and otherwise. A bit like a riddle, a maze, and a game of chicken rolled into one. With heavy consequences for not playing at the very top of your game. Lucky for you, (and for Absinthe) we were at the right place at the right time. But that would be a long and weird name for a movie, so we decided to call this one HEAVY MENTAL. You will be rocked. Riders include Victor De Le Rue, Austen Sweetin, Bode Merrill, Jason Robinson, Mat Schaer, Wolfgang Nyvelt, Manuel Diaz, Victor Daviet, Johnnie Paxson, Romain De Marchi, Blair Habenicht, Scot Brown, Ozzy Henning, Rusty Ockenden, Nils Arvidsson, Mathieu Crepel, Sylvain Bourbousson, Helen Schettini, and Mike Basich

This film takes us deep into Mongolia’s Altai Mountains. Camille Armand, Pierre Hourticq, and Victor Daviet share a passion not only for the mountains, but also for exploring remote and unfamiliar terrain. Tavan Bogd — “The Five Sacred Mountains” — refers to a group of peaks steeped in symbolism and legend. For two weeks, a yurt becomes their base camp as they set out to explore this little-known massif on skis and snowboards. But what are they truly searching for in these mountains? Director Yannick Boissenot, who gained recognition in 2024 with PACHAMAMA (featured in the FFF archive), once again showcases his eye for storytelling and the camera. With subtle sensitivity, the protagonists merge with the landscape and the locals who accompany them — letting the sacred mountains themselves take the leading role.
