Fictional story of a traffic accident that triggers a catastrophe near a small village in 1990. A liquefied gas truck collides with a transport truck carrying radioactive material for reprocessing. An accident that was never thought possible by human standards. The radioactivity released must be contained at all costs. Not only the catastrophic consequences of the radiation, but also the panicked, irrational and inhumane behavior of those trapped in the village and the German army are portrayed in an almost unbearable way in this film.
Dr. Andre Tourenne is a biologist by training, but has conducted a great deal of research in the field of cybernetics in recent years.
Young physician Dr. Thilo Stüver champions patient‐centered care, sparking conflict with colleagues prioritizing experiments. When he objects to a risky drug trial and clashes over invasive testing for a friend’s referral patient, Stüver faces a career crossroads between hospital politics and private practice.
A moose has been spotted on the Elbe. It has strayed into Germany from the far north. Two city boys are after the animal. One of them just wants to photograph the moose, the other wants to kill it. Without knowing about each other at first, they travel all over Germany in pursuit of the moose. At some point they meet and, realizing that the moose is hopelessly at the mercy of an unknown world, the two tentatively become friends. Finally, after the animal has strayed as far as the highway and Frankfurt airport, they decide to give the animal the coup de grace...
