The new General Music Director Marcus Bosch discovers the “light Wagner” at his debut in Nuremberg. Under his direction Meister-singer almost becomes a high-spirited, light-hearted comedy. This approach does not detract from the opera’s substance, this is ensured by the select ensemble of singers, the Nuremberg State Orchestra and its new conductor, who thrill the audience and critics from the start.
Dutch conductor Ton Koopman, one of the leading experts in the early music repertoire, will lead the Choir and Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Mozart’s Mass in C minor, K. 427, and Symphony No. 41, K. 551, “Jupiter.” The soloists include sopranos Maria Grazia Schiavo and Roberta Mameli, tenor Tilman Lichdi, and bass Luca Tittoto.
