'It Don't Come Easy' is a story of magical realism about a shy, retiring wallflower named Ella who receives a journal that gives her the power to change the actions of people around her. She is shown a world where she can make her dreams come true, only to learn it is not the reality she desires.

Two old friends unexpectedly spend one day together and end up debating each other's shortcomings. The conversation and day go places neither of them predicted.

Pennsylvania, 1956. Frank Sheeran, a war veteran of Irish origin who works as a truck driver, accidentally meets mobster Russell Bufalino.
