A story of an actor named Oleg whose wife has been seduced by his neighbor. As he is thoroughly convinced of her infidelity, he would like to poison her. An old man named Prokhorov helps him to get rid of his wife by lecturing about famous deaths caused by poisoning. It is from Prokhorov we learn that many famous and not so famous like Cesare Borgia and Caligula were killed as they were poisoned.

A movie which at first seems like a simple life story of an ordinary young man slowly evolves into an extraordinarily told ballade with twofold meaning - sad and optimistic at the same time...

Moscow, 1902. The famous director Konstantin Stanislavsky, in search of inspiration for staging a new play, decides to get acquainted with the life of the city "bottom". He turns to Vladimir Gilyarovsky, a recognized expert on the Moscow slums, for help.

A street painter meets a woman and asks to paint her. Two years later, the two are now a couple living together but struggle to get by. When the woman finds two abandoned kittens, she sets out to find them a new home.

For young district police officer Fedya, everything in his life is going awry. He hasn't been paid at work for several months now. The boss, with the help of a policeman, intends to carry out an illegal business, and the girl is tired of providing for both of them alone. One day Fedya finds an unusual bowling ball in the field, which promises the guy to solve all his problems.

Four friends have been together since first grade, however, adult life makes adjustments and now they see each other less and less. And that night, the friends decide to gather for their last barhopping...

Danya is a successful advertiser with delayed life syndrome. He tolerates the present for the sake of an ideal future, which he constantly dreams of: a solid income, a house in Italy and a pretty wife from social networks. He strives with all his might towards his goal, but life makes its own adjustments, or rather death. Postponing everything for later, Danya starts an old disease and suddenly falls into a coma. He finds himself in the waiting room of the afterlife, which suspiciously resembles the airport from his latest commercial. There are only two flights — to heaven or hell. However, the chance to return to the world of the living is not lost either. While whiling away the time at the local bar "Darling, I won't call you back", Danya rethinks her life and tries to fix everything.
