The trial of political prisoners is taking place in the Kutaisi prison. They face hanging or life imprisonment. In order to release them from prison, a party figure, nicknamed "Chagara" and a revolutionary woman, "Vardo", aka Nato Nakashidze-Volfisa, come to the city.
