The story of the adventures of a shepherd who charms everyone he meets with his songs and unusual voice: harsh commissars, robbers, composers, and finally, a beautiful fisherwoman.

Television production of the play "Dictatorship" by Ukrainian playwright Ivan Mykytenko, who was repressive in the 1930s. The theme of the film was the tragic fate of the people deceived by the government - a peasant who was robbed to the last grain and his strength was destroyed.

The protagonist goes on a sea cruise, during which he meets charming girls with whom he later falls in love. He is surrounded by amusing characters: a chronic bachelor, a "smuggler" barmaid, and little twin pranksters. Because of the twins' pranks, the movie characters ended up on an island that, as it turns out, belongs to an old hippie saxophonist named Hill. They believed that it was a desert island and started their new life as "robinsons". Years pass... Many children appear on the island, and Hill dies. Suddenly, everyone finds out that they are not living on an island, but at a radioactive waste dump.
