Nina and Frederik were the big names in international showbiz in the 1950s with their rousing calypso rhythms. That's why "Kærlighedens Melodi" (The Melody of Love) was bound to be a hit when the young, beautiful couple teamed up with the legendary, wonderful "Satchmo," Louis Armstrong, from the world of jazz. Musical interests vary widely in the affluent neighborhood of Hellerup. At the Schmidt wine merchant's, son Peter has only one interest: jazz. At the Supreme Court lawyer's house next door, Mozart is on the program. But his daughters like both jazz and Peter! Even though their fathers are suing each other, the two young people still find each other. And Louis helps when he plays "The Formula for Love."

Composer John Berger is plagued by marital problems and struggling with a deadline for the music for an operetta. When he is visited by the muse of music, Polyhymnia, the melodies begin to flow, but she also causes a lot of complications in his earthly life. Like John's wife Irene, she falls in love with flight lieutenant Harry, while her father Zeus looks on disapprovingly and decides to intervene. Meanwhile, the premiere of the operetta is fast approaching.

The only one who doesn't join in the joke is the pretty Mette Madsen. She thinks her friends are frivolous and stupid. In the vicinity of Copenhagen, a group of pensioners live in a very large villa. The owner, Doctor Bach, has invited a colleague, the young master Peter Park , to visit him. They have a common interest that they could discuss during his stay. When he arrives, it is at a most inconvenient time. He is greeted by the doctor's sister, the almost deaf Camilla, who does not understand much of what is going on around her. The doctor has completely forgotten that he invited Park, but he settles him into the villa nonetheless. Here, Park meets the doctor's granddaughter, the young and beautiful Lise Bach (Henriette Normann), to whom he is immediately attracted. When Lise asks her grandfather if he is going out again, the doctor explains that he is going to the cinema with his good friend Friis.

Doctor Willy Prager’s long, selfless office hours come at the expense of his attention-seeking fiancée. During a garden party, Willy is summoned to an ill child’s bedside and leaves his fiancée Erna in the hands of his faithful friend Alfred. Out of sheer boredom, Erna tries to kiss Alfred, but the loyal friend rejects her. Erna feels devastated and lies to Willy that it was Alfred who tried to seduce her. The man-hungry “vampire,” later to be popularized by America’s Theda Bara, made her screen debut in this Danish melodrama directed by August Blom. Clara Wieth starred in the title role of the Vampire Dancer, which is just what she was: a dancer performing her seductions on-stage. Off-stage, the young girl is kindhearted and a bit naïve. The lustful dance, during which Robert Dinesen succumbs to the dancer’s fatal charms, remained the centerpiece of the film, which was a popular success and made Wieth an international star.

Peter Soeborg and Susanne have been happily married for a month. He is a postman, but very gifted voice and in a couple of years participated as korherre Alhambra Theatre's operettas. Peter and especially his cute little wife proud dreams for the future, and their mutual friend, the old dresser Kragelund, who lives in the same house, also believe in Peter's abilities. There has to be premiered at the operetta "Love", and Peter hopes to be considered. But it should prove to be quite easy.

The fates of two people align as a beggar tries to steal money from a sleeping newspaper boy. Instead of reporting the crook to the police, the benevolent boy buys him a hearty meal, convinces him to give up drinking and helps him back onto the right path in life. A lottery win allows the kitchen girl Hansy Hansen to lodge at an upmarket seaside hotel where the widower landowner Rosen falls in love with her. However, Rosen is in financial difficulties because of the lawyer Sadolin, who reneged on marrying his daughter. He puts everything he can into the daughter's horse to win a race.
