When Kaptein Sabeltann and his men land on the mysterious island Gral, they are warned by the sorceress Miriam av Gral, that the lord of the island, Greven av Gral (the Count of Gral), is cruel and mad, and would like to replace Kaptein Sabeltann as the king of the sea.

A father is struggling to keep a good life with his son. His last business project was a flop. He is about to loose everything when two men with a gun turns up and makes him a proposal.

Einar and Bjørn leaves Lene on the island for a fishing trip. Then her former lover, Gaute, drops by unexpectedly. Drunk, he sleeps in the double bed. Lene sleeps on the couch and wakes up when the men come back. She tries to wake Gaute, but then discovers that he's dead.

Soon, with a massive police hunt underway, the robbers ended up taking two civilians and two police officers hostage. In addition we meet Rikke's elder sister Ninni, who has been in England to learn the language, and has had to leave her great love, a man twelve years her senior. The film is also about the problems Rikke encounters in fulfilling the expectations of those around her as she approaches womanhood.

While Eva Magnus and her daughter, Jenny, are taking a walk, they discover a dead body floating along the riverside. Eva runs to the nearest phone booth and pretends to call the police. Then she leaves the body for someone else to find. Why? Konrad Sejer, the police officer investigating the case, links it to another unsolved murder of a woman killed in her bed. A woman that used to be a childhood friend of Eva Magnus.

Kjell needs to fix some shelves to the walls in his apartment and borrows a Black&Decker drill from a neighbour. Kjell is very amused by drilling holes, and takes up a slightly bizarre fascination for the drill. One day the neighbour comes to get it back...
