This is a documentary produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and directed by Kevin Firkins. This documentary coincided with the production of the talk show opera Dennis Cleveland at the Octagon Theatre as part of the 2001 Perth International Arts Festival.

This is the small feature film that formed the integrated backdrop for the live performance/music piece. As abstract images and sound combine with the various stories and insights of the subjects interviewed, an illustration of memory is created. Seemingly unrelated video images merge with the images of the storytellers to create a common thread: the views of the Silent Minority.

Vivian, Roe, JJ, Ines and a mysterious French man through a 20 year musical memory of New York City. As people and places in their lives drift away, visual impressions meld with sound and narrative stories to reveal a complex yet moving tableau. As the characters recall their own personal histories, conflicting images reveal their past, present and future.

In an urban reality seen only in black and white, a boy from a conservatory works alone in the school's abandoned fine arts department. Until the boy is accused of schizophrenia by the institution, for gradually starting to see colors and act outside the norm, because he is an artist.

Four love stories which portray a wide gamut of emotions and desires against the backdrop of Rio de Janeiro. "Elephant's Stomp" : the story of a highway patrol officer who is infatuated with a mulatto dancer at a local nightclub. "Drao" : a publicity man and a boutique owner who face a crises in their marriage. "You Are Beautiful" : two homeless teenagers seek love amidst their personal misery. "Samba of the Great Passion" : a book maker who is charmed and captivated by the voice of a female singer coming from a building across the street. Characters in search of love in order to escape from the boredom, loneliness and helplessness of their lives.

A corrupt senator, Maria Pilar sees a great opportunity to win in the bidding process for the Brasil Brasileiro project. After contacting Minister Ivone Feitosa in search of more information, Maria is told to talk to the ministry's executive secretary, Madalena, to set up a frame-up. Little does she know, however, that Madalena has her own plan to get along on her own...

Sandra is an insurance broker staying at a hotel with her team for a training session led by a famous coach. When a mysterious phone call wakes her in her room, she realizes she is being watched by a foreign guest.
