Aki is an unsuccessful 29-year-old actress who eventually became a magician's assistant. While pretending to be hypnotised on the stage, Aki finds the boundary between reality and illusion becoming increasingly vague. For Aki, the only beautiful memory she has was the time spent with her lover Kaito.

when rumors about students who played at hitori Kakurenbo (sort of hide and seek alone with a ghost) propagate in high school, Shiori can no longer join his older brother Motoya. On his way to the apartment he is supposed to live, she found an empty room. But an internet forum unearthed on the computer of her brother leads her to believe that the disappearance of the latter may well be linked to this sordid game of hide and seek. Despite attempts by her boyfriend Noboru and his best to reassure her friend Yuko, Shiori is beginning to be convinced that something he wants her too and tries to track down. It will then turn to Shiraishi, a former classmate of her brother, trying to understand what is happening and return Motoya.

Sayako was abused by her mother as a young child. She eventually moved into a foster care facility because of the abuse and has lived there ever since. She's now a senior in high school. After Sayako graduates from high school she hopes to attend a ballet school, but Sayako can't count on her parents for tuition fees. One day, Sayako turns to her father for help. However, her father betrays her trust again and this pushes Sayako over the edge. She escapes from the foster care facility and seeks out her mother and older sister. Eventually, Sayako meets an equally lost soul named Kenta. Kenta wanders through the neighborhood on a bicycle asking random people if they know him.

Itsuki, a young director, begins making a film with a homeless girl she meets one day as the protagonist. However, this leads her to confront the distorted reality that she had been pretending not to notice.
