After the assassination of the Palestinian artist Naji Al-Ali in London in 1987, the film flashes back to the stops that he went through in his life, starting from his displacement with his family to Lebanon, to his work in Kuwait, to his return to Lebanon during the Lebanese civil war.

Devastated by the death of his newborn son, Omar is challenged by his mother’s request that he performs religious pre-burial rituals in the confines of a hospital.

(Wajih) loves the young journalist (Nahid) the nurse, and a bitter struggle arises between (Wajih) and (Sami) because of the press campaign he is waging against him, so he tries to buy him with money and does not succeed, and he tries to kidnap him without changing anything, until he decides to kidnap (Nahid) Habiba (Wajih).

Samia is in a relationship with the frivolous young man, Mamdouh, and slips up with him one day when she gets into his car. When she asks him to marry her, he evades her and travels abroad. Her attempt at suicide fails, but Ahmed saves her and welcomes her into his family. Later, Samia gives birth to her and Mamdouh's child.

Drawing on the Arab heritage of oral tradition and mosaic pattern, Leila and the Wolves is an exploration of the collective memory of Arab women and their hidden role in history throughout the past half century both in Palestine and in Lebanon.
