Jirka and Aneta are a young couple who enjoy the routine of their quiet relationship and are in no hurry to make big decisions in life. One night in their inherited flat, the doorbell rings and standing at the door is Jirka’s mother Valerie. An initially brief call turns into a never-ending visit from an intense and caustic diva whose presence fundamentally disrupts the couple’s privacy. Certainties are shaken, boundaries broken.
The story takes place in Italy, a country where terrorism and kidnappings are almost daily occurrences. Rampant banditry, injustice, coercion, and ultimately hopelessness stem from political events. Sunny Italy is no longer just a place of ancient monuments and tables laden with fine wine. Now it is primarily a place of ever-deepening social and political divisions.
After her mother's death, twelve-year-old Johana lives only with her father, who is clearly unable to raise her on his own. Therefore, she is sent to spend her holidays with her uncle, who lives alone on a rural farm. Johana, who is attracted to everything mysterious, discovers a mysterious German man living in an old tower in the neighborhood. Together, they search for the secret of a medieval legend about a gateway to other worlds. During their search, not only is their shared "Dänikenian" belief confirmed, but they also learn more about each other.
A story about a man overly influenced by the women in his life, which is unique in many ways, including the fact that he somehow turned out to be "straight" in spite of his ordeals with women, which started at birth.
