Henk is an experienced psychologist, but after the loss of his wife, Nicolene, he is powerless to help himself. He also can’t get through to his son, Renier, who hides his pain behind anger and denial. During Nicolene’s funeral, Henk confesses that he had once leaked the matric math exam paper to the entire town of Barberton. An investigation follows, and the whole class of 1990 must either retake the exam or lose their matric certificate. Henk asks Renier to tutor him, but it’s a struggle.
