Mona, her man Theo and daughter Hanna live in an idyllic villa on the outskirts. When the attractive daughter of a friend comes to visit, the problems and fragility of the small family are revealed and a tragic downward spiral continues.

The story centers on tough police officer Alex Steiner, whose brother Tommi is shot in an assassination attempt and ends up in the emergency room of the sharp-tongued young doctor Rita. While Alex tangles with a cold-blooded underground organization in his hunt for those responsible, Rita discovers that the bullet in the young man's body isn't the only reason for his condition, which is deteriorating by the minute. A man named Seligman finds a fainted wounded woman in an alley and he brings her home. She tells him that her name is Joe and that she is nymphomaniac. Joe tells her life and sexual experiences with hundreds of men since she was a young teenager while Seligman tells about his hobbies, such as fly fishing, reading about Fibonacci numbers or listening to organ music.

1980: 19 year old Robert, fed up with Hippy phoniness and bourgeoise narrow mindedness alike, flees the German provinces for West Berlin. A tour de force through the glorious dirt of West Berlin ensues. Full of sex, drugs, love and PUNK.
