One Second at a Time is a documentary about addiction and recovery, told through the story of Christine Ortoll, a young woman who fought, and ultimately lost, a ten-year battle with mental illness and substance use disorder via overdose.

After the death of her estranged mother, a troubled woman returns to her childhood home and discovers a box. When she breaks its seal, she unleashes malevolent entities tied to a dark family legacy and a deadly secret of her own.
