A group of young Egyptians are planning to immigrate to the United States from Bucharest. But, when the man they hired steals their money and leave them on the Hungarian border, they are forced to work together to overcome adversity.

Desperate for a fresh story, a journalist decides to look into a mysterious wave of murders in which the victims are all women.

He is able to regain his emirate after his people expel him and his brother Adel. They stay in a large hotel where Narjis, the Queen of Cotton, happens to stay, and they set their nets around her.

The lives of a group of simple people who are living on the roof of a building in Zamalek are intertwined, among whom is Nabila, a widow living with her son whose uncle wants to seize his inheritance, and Farid, her neighbor who stands beside her to help with her problem.

The government nationalizes Ibrahim's property and places him under house arrest, and Umm Al-Saad takes care of him. Ibrahim feels affection for Umm Al-Saad, so he gets involved with her and she becomes pregnant and he marries her. She gives birth to their daughter, Jalila, and Ibrahim dies. Years pass and Jalila graduates from the music institute. She seeks refuge with her uncle, but he expels her and denies her lineage. She resorts to the judiciary, and the uncle offers her to marry his son, Amr, who is sick with a malignant disease.
