Shinsuke Minami (三波伸介) was born on June 28, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan as Saburo Sawato. He was an actor, known for Dodes'ka-den (1970), Zatoichi Meets the One-Armed Swordsman (1971) and Shinano River (1973). He died on November 8, 1982.
On a Tokyo dump’s shantytown edge, interwoven vignettes follow residents scraping by: a boy who “drives” an imaginary trolley, a homeless father and son designing a dream house, a young woman brutalized at home, drunks, schemers, and saints of small kindnesses. Kurosawa crafts a ragged mosaic of hardship, fantasy, and flickers of grace that keep people moving forward.
Yakuza movie directed by Yasuharu Hasebe
A comedic tale that follows several quirky individuals who navigate the twists and turns of their daily lives.
Nakadai is an English teacher at a local school. He’s put-upon like the patron figure of dozens of films and televisions shows. Viewers who are especially fans of Nakadai will appreciate how the actor comically rants about here. His home life is almost disastrous, with a ditzy (but attractive) wife, three young children, a loud school nearby that’s controlled by a corrupt businessman he loathes, and frequent visits from layabout friends. And the grey-furred, green-eyed cat!
