Periyasamy, an idler, hopes to enjoy life as a rich man by making his son, Murali woo Mynaa, who, he thinks, is the daughter of a wealthy jeweller. Little does he realise that Mynaa is actually the daughter of a beggar!

Set during the lockdown, Umayal Karthika deciding to spend time at a 100-year-old unkempt library in a bid to divert and heal from a heartbreak. From the sea of books, she picks up Karungaapiyam and with her reading different chapters, and her imagination about the stories comes to life.

This coming-of-age drama follows Saba, the happy-go-lucky protagonist, through the years leading up to his adulthood and highlighting events of friendship and romance along the way.
