The rich butcher and purveyor to the court Wiener has had little joy in life since the death of his wife. His competitors now see their chance and try every trick in the book to get their hands on his successful liver cheese recipe.

In this black comedy set in small-town Bavaria, 11-year-old Sebastian thinks you can never be too young to be a murderer. He's convinced that he killed his mother on the day he was born and is certain he's already been condemned to purgatory. Deciding he might be able to knock off a few years of his sentence by doing good deeds, Sebastian sets out to find a wife for his father Lorenz. When Lorenz and Sebastian's schoolteacher Veronika fall madly in love with each other, it seems the heavens must be smiling. There's just one hitch: Veronika is married.

The starting point is the small (and real) town of Daxenbrunn, which has the misfortune of being located right on the highway to Salzburg. But Mayor Matthias and his friend and district administrator Dr. Seigis see the seemingly unfavorable geographical location as an opportunity to fill the empty coffers -- "Hendl, mehr sog I ned". A highway grill is supposed to redevelop the area, but in addition to the building permit, the land is also needed, and this is defended to the death by the old and stubborn farmer's wife Magdalena (great: Maria Singer) with weapons (!). Events come thick and fast when, almost simultaneously and independently of each other, art carver Johannes and asylum seeker Theophile turn up in the sleepy village and turn the local order upside down with their unflinching attitude.

In order to save her mountain guesthouse from ruin, Sopie plans to build a glass extension with a pool as an attraction. She comes up with this saving idea when her best friend Verena visits, who brings her brother Jan with her and who draws the plans for it. However, Sophie's permanent guest for life does not agree with these plans at all: Barthl, who would like to drive away all visitors, fears for his stable rights.

Katharina and Elena are best friends. After a year of training in Canada Elena has now returned to Bavaria - with her Canadian fiancé Tom. Elena's father would rather be marrying down-to-earth Markus. But he is with Katharina. But then Katharina and Tom fall in love.
