From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sebastian Junger (born January 17, 1962) is an American author, journalist, and documentarian, most famous for the best-selling book The Perfect Storm: A True Story of Men Against the Sea, his award-winning chronicle of the war in Afghanistan in his 2010 movie Restrepo, and his 2010 book War. Filmed over the course of ten years, On The Line explores the careers of three professional fighters - Will ‘Power’ Rosinsky, Danny ‘The Miracle Man’ Jacobs and Patrick ‘All’ Day - as they strive to become world champions in one of the most unforgiving of all sports. Set against the gritty backdrop of New York City, with its fabled boxing history and culture, the film follows Danny, Will and Patrick from their early days as standouts on the amateur scene all the way through their unrelenting climb up the professional ranks. With many documentaries concentrating on the glamor of the fight game and the million dollar purses battled over by the top 1% of fighters, On The Line tells a more sobering story, focusing instead on the realities of professional boxing and the price athletes pay to pursue their dreams and reach the highest level of the sport. Ultimately the film isn’t just a boxing documentary; it’s a study of human nature, and human limits.
