Cat, lead singer of indie band Band Four, reunites with her estranged father King following the death of her mother. King only wishes to make amends and reunite his family introducing Cat to her half-sister Lok Yin. After years of no contact, the newly reunited family struggle to form a bond, however, they all soon realise they share a deep passion and love for music and performing.

When her “midnight gymnasium” program for wayward teens is under the threat of being defunded, social worker Yanki puts together a dodgeball team to save it. With the help of an unemployed, has-been star jock as the coach, the motley crew of teen girls learn that dodging from their problems can work temporarily, but they must learn to eventually stand back up and overcome their challenges.

Gun is a loan shark. Having worked hard for years, i.e. intimidating and threatening his debtors, he musters just enough money to purchase a house for the family. The plan is at risk, however, when one of his debtors dies and Gun discovers that he is not the only creditor. Out of desperation, he asks for his daughter’s help, who is unwilling to be involved in her father’s shady business. The simmering tension causes a rift in the family.
