In a representation of the housing problem in Egypt, a group of friends reunited by their search for an apartment encounter different problems as Kamal is looking for a place to turn into an art studio and Sherif is trying to find a place where he and his wife can live.

Mohamed is a soldier who finds himself in Gaza after the defeat in the 1967 War. He returns to his native village feeling broken and depressed after witnessing the deaths of his fellow soldiers. He still loves Fatima but her father wants her to marry Abbas who exploits the farmers and eventually rapes her.

Captain Rateb falls seriously ill. Tawfiq, the port worker, offers to let him pass a bag of drugs through customs in exchange for a large sum of money. He agrees to secure his children's future, but regrets it and throws the bag into the sea. Gang members kidnap him and he is surprised to find out that his friend Nazih is the leader of the gang. Rateb manages to escape, and Nazih threatens to kill his three children after kidnapping them if he does not return the bag to him.

The play tells the story of a king who is bored with the ruling. He decides to disguise himself and his minister in search of entertainment among the public. He meets a bankrupt merchant who spends his time in wine and delirium and dreams of being king. The king decides to wear his clothes and make him the king of the day until he laughs at this strange scene. That the merchant is the king, including the queen and the palace guards, and the merchant discovers a plot to overthrow the rule that day, which entrench him more above his chair, and finds the king himself a victim of a recreational game.

Kamal is arrested with his mistress in the act of adultery. They also arrest her friend Ebtisam, who comes across her home, despite her innocence.

Nadia gets involved in a relationship with her lover Medhat and becomes pregnant. Medhat gets into a car accident and travels abroad to complete his treatment without Nadia knowing. She tells her sister Sohair about her tragedy. Sohair takes advantage of her husband's long business trip to America and attributes the baby to herself to save her sister's reputation.

Dunya is married to Mustafa. They have a beautiful child and live a happy life. However, a family friend, a doctor, discovers that the husband is on the verge of death due to a serious illness. Dunya will be unjustly accused of killing her husband, businessman Mustafa, out of greed for his money, while the real criminal enjoys freedom and money. The doctor friend tries to find out the truth and with all his might prove Dunya's innocence.

Her brother Karim is shocked by what happened to his sister to the point of madness, so he decides to take revenge on her friends

Although Hatem earned a PhD in agriculture from the USA, he is still envious and holds a deeply rooted grudge against others, specially his family who have always treated his older brother better than him. Upon his return, Hatem decides to open a cosmetics factory, and events unfold dramatically.
