In 1940s Turkey, the war is recently over, but the wounds are still fresh, and the WWII is going on next door. A different family lives in each room of a mansion. They all lead a scarce life but hold on to life with hope.

This is the story of Durmuş and Dudu, who live in a remote mountain village. Durmuş, who is blind in one eye and has difficulty walking, dreams of escaping the village and starting a new life. While searching for treasure, he also writes letters to his childhood sweetheart, Cennet. Durmuş's elderly and ill mother, who wants to marry him off out of concern for the future, has chosen Dudu as his bride: Dudu, who was born deaf, mute, and unable to speak. Though Dudu is Durmuş's only companion after his mother's sudden death, things become complicated when Cennet suddenly appears. Cennet's courage to embrace life despite her impending death will serve as a beacon for Durmuş and Dudu.

Sent to prison along with his mother after her drug conviction, a young boy develops a warm, tender relationship with a political prisoner.

Cemil is a feisty young man from Trabzon who played for Trabzonspor in the mid-1990s. He transferred to Beşiktaş during the same period and changed greatly in character after moving to Istanbul. During a Beşiktaş-Trabzonspor match, he scored three goals against his former team, Trabzonspor, and then did three somersaults, earning him the nickname "Somersaulting Cemil" and turning all his old friends and fellow Trabzon natives against him. He left his fiancée Zeynep and settled in Istanbul, never returning to his hometown for 20 years. Now in his 40s, Cemil is forced to return to Trabzon when he hears that his father has had a heart attack. However, he is too late—his father has already passed away. He wants to return to Istanbul immediately after the funeral, but he is forced to change his mind after hearing the words of his closest friend, Kemal.

Murat is a charismatic political prisoner in Malatya. He is well respected by both inmates and prison officers. There he meets two women: Tozey, a famous prostitute, and Hanim, a defenseless woman accused of murdering her husband.

After the delay of an official imam sent to a little village, the villagers try to find an imam to lead them during pray. After discussions, they decide to make "Bizum Hoca" (Our hodja) the imam of village, a villager loved and respected by everyone, though he is not an official one. Hodja, a different man from stereotype imams, also wants to change some bad habits villagers have. Meanwhile, the construction of one of the hydroelectric power plants (HPP) causing intense discussions in the region, next to a river flowing through the village, becomes a hot issue on the village's agenda. The villagers are against this construction and the fight begins. "Bizum Hoca" finds himself leading the villagers who started the protests.

Orhan, who has spent his entire life striving to be successful in his career, is unexpectedly dismissed from his job. Orhan, who was so devoted to his job that he had no social life and had never considered marriage, regrets all the things he gave up for his career. He had sacrificed everything for his job, but after the company decided to lay him off because they deemed him insufficient, he resolves to find a social activity to alleviate his regrets and decides to join a cooking class to socialize. On the first day of the cooking class, he meets a charming woman named Şirin, and his journey to savor life begins with her.

The life of Afife Jale, the first Turkish female theater artist, is recounted. Since childhood, Afife has been a free-spirited girl who loves her freedom. However, she lives in a conservative family environment. When she turned twelve, she was forced to wear a veil despite her objections. With the support of her family elders, her father allowed her to study painting at the School of Fine Arts. However, Afife's heart was set on theater. Initially, she staged plays for her friends on a small stage she had set up inside her home, performing the plays of the Afife Company. Her greatest obstacle was her father. With the support of her grandfather, the Pasha, and her childhood friend and lover, Dr. Ziya, Afife stood up to her father. She could not suppress her desire for much longer.

Kerim lives with his family in a rent house for years. One day his landlord tells him to look for another house or raise the rent money.He finds a house by the help of Sühandan whom he works together and in love.
