In 1972, as a first year student at The Boston School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Rufus directed "Pernod Fils", a satire of heady foreign films with a completely fabricated language and nutty English subtitles. The film's star, Stephen Moore, a Berklee School of Music student at the time, also composed the music.
