A cold night. A winter’s wind unrelenting at the beginning of a connection between Peter and Lily. In the narrow, mysterious streets of Neve Tzedek, in homes built over a century ago, a mere stone’s throw from the sea and Jaffa, Lily and Peter meet, after much pressure from Neli, a 31-year-old architect. Dating in her golden years, 60-year-old Lily, Neli’s mother, is finally ready to meet 76-year-old Peter, a barely known theater actor. Lily has a 31-year-old secret. This is the story of Peter, a 65 year old widower, a theater actor who never got a lead role. Peter decides to run for the Knesset so as to receive a Knesset member's pension. With help from Alona, a 28 year old talented waitress who writes blogs, they set up The Widows and Widowers Party. They both start out on a journey which removes them from their loneliness and exposes them to new worlds that will help them leave their pasts behind them.

In Majdal Shams, the largest Druze village in Golan Heights on the Israeli-Syrian border, the Druze bride Mona is engaged to get married with Tallel, a television comedian that works in the Revolution Studios in Damascus, Syria. They have never met each other because of the occupation of the area by Israel since 1967; when Mona moves to Syria, she will lose her undefined nationality and will never be allowed to return home. Mona's father Hammed is a political activist pro-Syria that is on probation by the Israeli government. His older son Hatten married a Russian woman eight years ago and was banished from Majdal Shams by the religious leaders and his father. His brother Marwan is a wolf trader that lives in Italy. His sister Amal has two teenager daughters and has the intention to join the university, but her marriage with Amin is in crisis. When the family gathers for Mona's wedding, an insane bureaucracy jeopardizes the ceremony.

Romance can find us in the strangest places. When Ella and Gabi meet hiking in the Negev desert, things start off rough but as in the best romantic comedies end smoothly.

After another unsuccessful suicide attempt, depressed Simcha wakes up in her childhood bedroom. During 48 hours of family supervision, after which she is to be committed, Simcha tries to find other ways to kill herself while her family members race against the clock to find her something else.
