The lives of five unrelated people — a husband, a doctor, a wife, a student, and a young daughter — are turned upside-down with irreversible consequences.
'Lukas & the Aspies' is a story about 12-year old Lukas. In many ways, Lukas is a normal kid: He plays in a band, hangs out with his friends and fights with his little brother. But Lukas' has also Asperger syndrome - and hence his own set of unique problems.
The film is based on Christian Kampmann's novels: "Certain Considerations", "Solid Relationships", "Clean Lines" and "Other Ways" (1973-75). The Gregersen family is a picture of inner and outer Denmark from the mid 50's to the 70's. The story begins in 1954 in the well-behaved, but not just successful, Gregersen family from the best part of the whiskey belt on the right side of Strandvejen.
In order to preserve the family farm Hamre, Bente follows her dying father's wishes and marries the brutal landowner's son Gorm. He hunts the young girls on the farm and succumbs to the evil and scheming influence of the marksman Grove. The unhappy marriage turns into a veritable power struggle between Bente and Gorm. At the same time, we follow Bente's younger sister Grethe, who appears to be happily married to Martin, the son of a merchant. However, Martin is unnaturally attached to his mother, and his family spends freely of Grethe's inheritance.
Frederik is the headmaster of a private school and one day he is being accused of stealing 12 million Danish crowns from the school. But everything is not as simple as it might seem. Frederik has been living with a tumor in his brain for the last 3 years and it has changed his personality. Now his wife Mia and the defense lawyer Bernard have to try and get Frederik acquitted of all charges.
Copenhagen, 2018. A frightening discovery is made in an old apartment. The subsequent investigation of Department Q leads them to an infamous institution for girls that was suddenly closed in the early sixties.
Two groups of children are playing war at the old fort. One group is from the local asylum center. They are all immersed in the game, as if they were in a real war. The goal is to capture the other group's flag at any cost! Missions are planned and the perfect strategy is devised. The girl Yasmin in particular shows great skill in warfare. The friendship between the children is strong, even though they are different, but one day the reality of war knocks on their door.
Dad loses his job and now the family is in the need for money. Mie and Ole is working on a talent show at their school. Little Per tries to help the family.
