Lovers are caught in a karmic cycle, trying desperately to reunite

Ajith Singh gives up his life as a smuggler for the sake of his son. However, things take a turn when he crosses path with another smuggler, who kills his son's headmaster.

Brash, outspoken, and aethiest Shanker lives in a small village with his son, Mohan, and his devout wife, Durga, who is expecting another child soon. One day Shanker decides to leave and takes Mohan with him, leaving a pregnant Durga alone. Years go by, both Mohan and Ajay have grown up. Mohan and Shanker operate a crime syndicate, partnering with Keshavlal, a notorious gangster. Ajay operates a publicatin called Karmayogi, in which he publishes news and information about crime and criminals, and does an expose on Keshavlal. Mohan and Shanker want a bigger stake in the share, which Keshav agrees to, but arranges for Shanker to get killed, and blames it on Ajay. When Shanker is killed, Mohan swears to avenge his father's death and begins the trek of locating and killing Ajay.

When Anju comes to the city for a job, she is entrapped by Badal who offers her work in return of sexual favours. Things escalate when she tells her lover about her escape from the clutches of Badal.

Time is running out for Khushbu, Ravi Sharma(Sunil Dutt)'s daughter. Her leukemia can be cured only if someone's bone marrow matches her daughter so, he goes abroad and gets in touch with her former wife (Smita Patil).

The lives of friends Namdev, Raghu, Damu and Jaggi take a turn for the worse when they win a lottery. Raghu and Damu murder Jaggi and frame Namdev who later returns to seek revenge.

As far as he can remember Harinarain Singh alias Hariya has no knowledge of his birth, parents nor of a family home. During a skirmish with some of Thakur Balram Singh's hoodlums, he lies unconscious at the entrance of a temple with the Poojary in attendance, and an elderly unhinged woman praying to God for his sake. When he wakes, the Poojary tells him that the woman, known as "Pagli" (madwoman) is his very own mother, his father was a farmer, Ram Singh, who died of shock when his land was taken away by Balram and his men. Shortly thereafter Pagli passes away, and Hariya swears to take back his land from Balram. A wily Balram transfer this land in his nephew, Balraj's name, who is known to be a close friend of Hariya's with hopes of creating a misunderstanding between the two friends. When Balraj returns home he accepts this land from his uncle and decides to oppose Hariya with all his might, especially when he finds out that the love of his life, Sharda, is living with Hariya.

Anil meets Radhika when searching for his new workplace. This begins a romance, although Radhika eventually discovers he already has a child from a former marriage.

After being thrown out of his house by his father, the smuggler Sunder is forced to live a simple life and in doing so manages to reform himself and become the good son that his father always dreamed of. -SR

Sanam Teri Kasam is the story of Sunil and his search for his father who has gone somewhere when Sunil was just a child. He meets Reena Roy en-route who leads him to his father Kader Khan. But unfortunately, somebody else (Ranjeet) has already been planted by Jeevan as Sunil and hence, Kader Khan neither recognises his real son, nor allows him to meet Reena Roy. In the end however, every hurdle is removed and all is well. The film is also known for its super hit songs, especially 'nisha, nisha, nisha'. The other songs 'sheeshe ke gharon mein', 'kitne bhi tu kar le sitam' were also hit.
