Rigging a horse race, Don Carlos wins a lot of money. When he loses his winnings at the gambling table, he shoots the dealer with Horton's gun. Horton is arrested but cannot prove his innocence.

Tom Milford, foreman of the Hayden ranch, and Sylvia Hayden, daughter of the ranch owner, are in love. Hayden has been notified that Archie Hollister, son of an old friend in the east, is coming to visit the ranch. Just before Hollister arrives, a cowboy brings word to the ranch that Simms, a troublesome neighbor, has been illegally interfering with the ranch supply of water.

An English nobleman travels West for some deer hunting. The ranch hands make fun of him, but Louise takes a liking to him and decides that she'll help him bag his deer.

Ray Vernon, a hard-working young man who so far has been unable to catch the elusive dollar, is in love with Louise, the daughter of a wealthy broker. Ray is sternly told that when he possesses $5,000 as a start in life, his suit may be considered. Disheartened, Ray starts for town. On the corner adjoining the magnificent mansion of the broker is a vacant lot on which a sign stating that there are no restrictions as to buildings advertises the lot for sale. An idea strikes Ray. Making for the real estate office, he buys an option for thirty days on the lot. He then visits the Italian section and makes a proposition to Pedro, an Italian, to build him a small shack which he can have, providing he and his family will move into it. A few days later the wealthy broker's wife is astonished to see a rough wooden shack erected on the vacant lot, and Pedro and his numerous posterity its inhabitants.

Louise and Ray are newly married. At heart Ray is in love with Louise, though he is a bit of a flirt. Resentful, because of his neglect, Louise writes her parents that she is coming home. She learns that Ray is infatuated with his stenographer, and hires a detective to trail him.

Mistaken identity is the theme. The husband, who neglects his wife, is watched by two detectives, who make up to appear like him. When mother-in-law arrives the action begins

Patience Winslow is an impulsive heiress who marries a much-older man whom she really doesn't love. While honeymooning on her yacht without her new husband, Patience is marooned on a desert island with handsome Captain Edmunds. Her head full of notions that she's gleaned from radio dramas and pulp novels, Patience demands that she and Edmunds enter into an in-name-only marriage, observing the responsibilities and proprieties of matrimony without the sexual entanglements. Complications naturally arise.

A short comic film in which a young man has himself admitted to the hospital so as to see more of his girlfriend (who is a nurse there), to the displeasure of the surgeon.

Fortune hunters from all over the country rushing to the Klondike in 1897 to seek their fortunes in the gold are tested by hardships of the journey.
