Gertie, called Flo by her friends, sees her big chance of a modelling career when she manages to get the business card of successful model Chantal at a fashion show in her sleepy village. She goes to Berlin and nests in the flat share of Chantal and Freddie. Whereas country girl Flo is still busy finding herself, Chantal is about to lose herself more and more in the depths of stardom. Once upon a time very much alike the twenties in Germany, a little town is frightened to death by an uncaught child murderer. Strangely enough, the only work he can find is to distribute candy on children, dressed up as clown. When a bunch of kiddies, including his own son who doesn't recognize the father due to the masquerade, plays a nasty trick to him, things turn really ugly...
