This film is based on five shot stories of Rabindranath Tagore's Jibito O Mrito, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Abhagir Swarga, Gour Kishore Ghosh's Aei Daha, Prafulla Roy's Satgharia and Dibyendu Palit's Kaanch.

Sudipa falls in love with Rawnobir, a goon, and soon, they both get married. However, things take a turn when Rawnobir is arrested and gets imprisoned.
The story is of terrorism that’s plaguing different parts of the Northeast as the backdrop. Shilajeet Majumdar, a militant on the run, takes refuge in a dilapidated mansion. Rupa Ganguly stays there with her father-in-law Soumitra Chatterjee and his father Haradhan Bandopadhyay who’s confined to bed and is unable to speak. This film focuses on the friction and undercurrent of tension between the lady of the house and the terrorist.

Lakhindar captures exotic birds from the Bengal forests, but his refusal to see them caged leads him to constantly set his catches free. This lack of income drives his household into deep poverty, causing his wife to grow increasingly resentful of his compassionate choices. In her frustration, she begins an affair with the middleman who takes the birds to the market.

The film deals with the personal crisis of two different women from two different backgrounds who battle it out and they lend each other's shoulder to cry on. They also are able to come out of their 'cages' at the end.

Amal Basu, who decides to visit his hometown, meets Lila on the train. When he goes to his friend Nabendu's home, he learns that Lila is his sister and a smuggler.

Navendhu Kumar lives a poor lifestyle with his handicapped father, Mohan, housewife mom, two unmarried sisters, Leela and Rajni, a younger brother, Kundan, and a sweetheart in Meena. He works for Avinash Gupta, however, when differences occur, he is framed by Gupta for breaking and entering, arrested by the police, tried in Court, and exiled from the town for a period of 12 months. After he leaves, the family is almost destitute and are exploited by Gupta. Then some months later, a young man, Anand, comes to visit them, informing them that Navendhu has sent him. He gives them some money for day to day expenses, gets some clothes for everyone, and a wheelchair for Mohan. He arranges the marriage of Rajni with her boyfriend, Ajay, despite strong opposition from Gupta, and falls in love with Leela. What the Kumar family do not know is that Anand is a fugitive on the run from the police in Bombay, and he harbors a dark secret that will change their lives forever.
