The film tells the story of a young man who moves to Istanbul and falls in love. Bekir, the son of the richest man in Çukurova, is pro-industrialization. He convinces his father to sell part of their land. He takes his cousin İskender with him and moves to Istanbul. He becomes a partner in his fellow countryman Serhat's factories and wins new contracts. He falls into conflict with Ferit, the factory owner who is his biggest rival in his new business, and Ferit's daughter Leyla. This conflict between the two companies ends when Bekir falls in love with Leyla. However, his clan will try to prevent this relationship.
The film depicts the struggles of a poor family. A father who repairs shoes works alongside his two sons. The father wants his eldest son, Mehmet, to find another job. Mehmet decides to work as a cotton picker with his wife and children. Ali, the younger son who cannot get along with his father, also begins working with them. The father suggests that they all work together to pool their money and then renovate the shop. Upon this, the entire family goes to pick cotton. However, things will not go as planned for the family embarking on this new venture.
İlyas, a truck driver from Istanbul, arrives in a remote village to work on a dam construction project and meets a young village woman named Asya. They fall madly in love and get married. However, their life together is fraught with conflict. When İlyas cheats on Asya, the final straw in their relationship, she takes her son and begins wandering without knowing where she is going, until a familiar hand reaches out to help her selflessly.
In 1942 during the time of war, Tatar Ramazan goes to jail because murder after argument on lands. When he gets out, he finds out that the life outside is much harder.
