Hugo loves elves, but is teased by his peers. Hugo decides to go against his feelings and force himself to grow up. But when his family is on Christmas vacation, he discovers that elves live at the hotel. Hugo struggles internally not to help the elf girl Sne, who has lost her elf parents. Sne wants to go home, but she can't get the reindeer to fly because she has never learned magic.

Helen, a priest, is approached by scientist Lisbeth with a desperate plea for help. A young man, who has been sent to a high security psychiatric ward after having killed an old couple, has attempted suicide while rambling about God. Having been part of an experiment attempting to humanize inmates by assigning them pets, the young man has suddenly gone ballistic. 'Familien Jul' is a Danish family film, where Hugo's father hates July Neither elves, men or Christmas gifts can get him in the Christmas mood, and he is most happy when the holidays are over. Nissen Pixy is therefore quite unfortunate as he stays away from the sleigh and left alone at the family Christmas, but fortunately he soon becomes good friends with Hugo. Along with his siblings Hugo tries to save their new friend, but even if no one believes in elves, they are still difficult mighty hard to hide .

In the new film, Pixy the elf makes a surprise appearance at the Jul family's house on December 1. He has come to retrieve the elf hat he forgot last year, which holds a secret—his magical elf ball. Hugo accidentally destroys the elf ball, causing Pixy to lose his elf magic and begin to age rapidly. Hugo is the only one who can reassemble the ball and save Pixy, so he must fly with his siblings Alfred and Vega to the magical elf land. On their journey, they encounter many obstacles – not least the evil elf Evol and his band of elves, who try to prevent Hugo from reassembling the ball. Evol turns Alfred into a reindeer and uses magic to make Vega hopelessly in love with him.

9-year old Valdemar lives with his father Bo on a country house in the province. They have a friendly relationship, but Bo is suffering from alcohol problems, and Valdemar must therefore often be the adult one and take responsibility for himself. When Valdemar one day suspects the nurse Ulla for wanting to force him away from Bo, he starts an imaginary battle to defend the farm and to stay with Bo. This gets Bo to look deeply into himselves and deceive the only thing he loves in the world, his son, to give him a childhood before it is too late.

August returns to his hometown to return something important. But when he discovers that his childhood friend Sylvester wants nothing to do with him anymore, old feelings and memories of a shared grief come flooding back.
