A man wakes up on the tram without remembering previous events or how he got there. But memory wants to see patterns. It is an abstract state of affairs in which a man without a past and a future tries to solve the mystery that the present plays for him.

A priest hides two young men in an empty monastery, because the boys have killed a German soldier in defense of their village. A villager aware of the crime seeks shelter there too. Relationships become strained and actions escalate.
