Further fate of Dzidzius Górkiewicz, the protagonist of Andrzej Munk's film "Eroica". After retiring, Górkiewicz moved to a small town near Warsaw. After years filled with doing numerous, not always clean businesses, he leads a quiet, honest life of a provincial. A group of local businessmen see him as an ideal candidate for the new mayor. Gorkiewicz himself is undecided about what to do. Then he dreams of a meeting of the municipal council, where he wants to present his program.

In the nearby small town aggression begins to grow again the unwanted guests; the house have been promised to the local people for housing purposes... The lives and fates of Jola, Andrzej, and father Jan become increasingly intertwined with one another...

Alexander Joseph Lisowski was born around 1575, and served as a common soldier under Jan Potocki in the campaign against the Wallachian hospodar. Later, as the leader of a confederation of rebellious soldiers, he became famous for plunder and arbitrariness. He was sentenced to banishment for this. He then enlisted in the service of Dmitri Samozwaniec. He was already a commander shrouded in legend when the stigma of infamy was lifted from him. He returned to Poland and created his famous cavalry, later known in Europe as the Polish cavalry or Lisowczycy, after its creator.

Jerzy Stuhr scripted, directed and plays four roles in this Polish comedy about four men -- an army officer, a college instructor, a priest, and a drug dealer -- and their relationships with four females. An attractive student puts the teacher in an awkward spot when she reveals her love for him. An 11-year-old informs the priest that she's his daughter. The army officer is pleased when confronted by a past lover. The drug dealer, taken prisoner, must decide whether or not to trust his wife with his hidden loot. In the wrap-up, the elderly accountant passes judgment on all four men. Stuhr acted in films by the late Krzysztof Kieslowski, who had some input here by offering advice to Stuhr on this screenplay.
