As Germany's fortunes in the latter part of World War II wane, several young boys, in their enthusiasm to do something "for the fatherland", volunteer to fight with the German army in the East. Horrified at the news that their children left for the Russian front, the boys' mothers begin a desperate effort to get their sons back.

Three Swedish girls are at boarding school and a bit bored with their lessons, so they travel to Hamburg to have a few adventures. Lil tries to get her teacher, who is staying with his girlfriend, around and the others have fun in the city's red light district. They want to spend the night with their sister, one of the Swedes, who supposedly works there as a secretary. Soon everything ends in turbulent entanglements...

Although the chief field judge rules the man's death an accident, Krafft reconstructs the events and proves that it was a case of murder. Ensign Hochbauer, who was in the party's favor, is said to have deliberately shortened the fuse during the explosive exercise, as a result of which the supervising officer was unable to get to safety in time.

Hans eventually mends his ways, but not before several other devastating setbacks.

The son of an Argentine chemist travels to Vienna, to solve the murder of his father. Step by step, he realizes that his father was internationally entangled in secret service machinations and chemical weapon sales, and ends up in mortal danger himself. Meanwhile, he also realizes that there is no connection between his father's murderess and those dubious activities. Her motive for killing him goes back much futher, to a court hearing during the Third Reich...

A story about a family after the Second World War. The petty bourgeois cashier Karl Weber of Berlin observes from a distance how his son Ernst participates in the building of a new socialist society. Karl does not understand Ernst's visions, instead he confides in his other son Harry. However, Harry becomes involved in illicit business and Karl quickly realizes that it would be best to join his son Ernst in the citizen-owned factory.
