AN EMBRACE is a conversation about rest, embodiment, and connection. Through a multitude of exchanges, the film weaves a tapestry of voices, images, and sounds, dissolving the boundaries between the tangible and intangible. ln late 1800s Europe, Oscar, a wealthy but lonely middle-aged man who has lived a decadent, extravagant life in a chateau filled with wine, courtesans and opium, confesses his love to his gardener Jude before he dies of his excesses.
In this adaptation of Georg Leß's "Anderkatt (The Haircut)," two women converse through an uncanny amalgam of images and soundscapes. One is on an expedition; the other follows the expedition's progress from afar.
