In the summer of 1945, between the Victory over Germany and the war with Japan, 10-year-old Petka from a Far Eastern village tries to save a dying friend from a mysterious illness. But the only one who can help him is the Japanese prisoner Hirotaro from a military camp nearby. Petka and Hirotaro will have to find a common language, trust each other and call for help not only science, but even ancient spirits.

An eight-year-old boy Misha lives in one of the panel houses. He does not know worries and fears, although his mother has not been at home for a long time - Misha lives with his 18-year-old sister Masha. Masha does not like that Misha scatters toys all over the apartment, and she comes up with a story about Creepy, a scary giant who takes away small naughty children. This prank of Masha would have remained a vivid memory from childhood, but soon Misha begins to notice new evidence of Creepie's existence.

After a seamstress’ husband breaks her arm as a result of a disagreement, the mother of two’s life becomes increasingly more difficult. However, through the power of magic, she unexpectedly resists and grows a second pair of arms the next time he tries to be violent. Her husband then finally learns that she is more than capable of taking matters into her own hands.

The action takes place during the Great Patriotic War. The protagonist, a Siberian hunter Gavriil Sobinov, volunteers for the front after learning that his son Semyon, a young lieutenant, is missing. Gavriil wants to fights the enemy and find his son, but instead of the front lines, he finds himself in a supply platoon. He proves himself a hero in his very first combat and, after training at the sniper school, gets to the front lines. Gavriil is made commander of the sniper group. He continues the search for his son. The story of a German sniper Werner develops in parallel. He also ends up at the front with his son Dietrich fighting alongside him. A clash between the sniper fathers, whom fate is inexorably bringing together, is inevitable...
