At 3,798 metres, Austria’s highest mountain towers over a world in flux. Nearly 225 years after its first ascent, the Großglockner is now a focal point of alpine research. Rising temperatures shift habitats, sending alpine plants and animals on the move. Also for humans, the mountain’s face is changing, the recent closure of the Stüdlgrat due to rockfall is a stark reminder of the risks.

At the Vienna Konzerthaus, the magical Christmas gala brings together Julie Fuchs and Ludovic Tézier to perform traditional carols. The programme includes Adolphe Adam's ‘Minuit chrétien’, ‘Les anges dans nos campagnes’ and ‘Entre le boeuf et l'âne gris’, followed by “Hallelujah” from Handel's ‘Messiah’.
