Hızır loses his wife Halime, who has been in intensive care for a long time. Her daughter, Hatice, learns from the nurse Evren, who had been devotedly helping her ailing mother, that he caused her mother’s death. Hatice tries to be compassionate to her father, who comes to her house. She refrains from revealing the truth to him, but after a while, she can’t keep this secret anymore and shares it with her sister, Kader. While thinking that they should tell Evren’s confession to their father, Kader thinks they should go to the police. Kader’s persistence on her sister creates an existential problem for Hatice, who is crushed under the weight of Evren’s confession. All family members have to face the truth at a family dinner.

Istanbul, today. The city has become one big machine that pulls people apart. Through the streets of the city echo the voices of young male and female workers. The harsh reality of an uncertain economic phase is felt in each segment of what is left of the Turkish society class structure. A Kurdish girl stands up against her family rules and tradition. A young unemployed male sells himself to tourists in front of the Blue Mosque. His body is the last working tool he is left with. Torn between the West and the East, Istanbul becomes the city symbol of a world that can neither go back nor (yet…) step forward.

A shocking act of violence becomes a unique bond between two lonely men which leads them to discover the meaning of love in most unexpected ways.
